What are your deadlines for applying for admission, financial aid and scholarships?
- Students interested in transferring for the fall semester or summer session (1st or 2nd term) should have their application for admission and all supporting documents submitted by March 3 for priority consideration.
- Students interested in transferring for the spring semester should have their application for admission and all supporting documents submitted by October 1.

Do transfer students at UA attend orientation?
Yes. Orientation sessions for transfer students are required and include registration for the first semester’s classes, as well as seminars on UA policies, procedures and services. Sessions are offered several times each year. Students receive registration materials upon admission. See the Bama Bound website for more information.
Does the University have a residency requirement for transfer students?
Each academic department determines the number of hours that must be completed at The University of Alabama in order to receive a degree from UA.
How can I find someone to talk to about my major?

How can I determine which credits will transfer from my current institution to The University of Alabama?
If you are transferring from an Alabama community college, you can use the Alabama Transfers Course Equivalency page to map out your curriculum as well as to view course equivalencies. If you are transferring from a 4-year institution or an out-of-state community college, you can view a list of course equivalencies on the University Registrar’s website. Once you have been admitted, you can view all official course evaluations through DegreeWorks on your myBama account.
If I attend The University of Alabama, what kind of campus resources are available?
UA’s Career Center works with students to help them find the careers they want by providing aptitude/personality tests, resume services and on-campus interviews. The Office of Disability Services provides academic accommodations for students who submit appropriate documentation of their physical or learning disability. The Capstone Center for Student Success offers tutoring, study skills workshops and supplemental instruction sessions for any student who would like to take advantage of additional academic resources to enhance their learning opportunities while at the University.
What are the housing options for transfer students?
