Freshman Steps to Enrollment

New Nursing Admissions Process

For first-time freshmen, beginning with the 2027 admissions cycle, UA has implemented a new process for admitting students into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program at entry. Please review information about this new process on the Nursing page regarding updates.

Submitting Your Application

Your first step to enrollment is applying for Undergraduate Admission via the UA Undergraduate App or the Common App (main campus, first-time freshmen only).

The application for admission also includes the scholarship application for automatic merit scholarships and many competitive scholarships. All required supplemental documents must be submitted to complete your applications. Find out more under the Incoming Freshman section on How to Apply page.

Steps to Enrollment

Summer or Fall 2027 Semester Steps to Enrollment

First-time freshmen applying for summer or fall 2027 should follow these steps to complete enrollment at The University of Alabama.

  1. Apply for Undergraduate Admission

To ensure consideration for admission and all available scholarship opportunities, submit an application and all supporting documents by the December 4 priority deadline.

You may apply via the UA Undergraduate App or the Common App.

Most first-time, main-campus freshmen applying for summer or fall admission who meet the December 5 priority deadline can expect an admission decision by late March, if not sooner.

  2. Freshman Enrollment Deposit

Save your spot in the incoming class by submitting your $200 nonrefundable Freshman Enrollment Deposit. This deposit will be applied toward your first student bill at UA and must be paid before you can apply for housing or register for Bama Bound Orientation.

  3. Housing Application

Claim your place at UA by submitting your housing application on the Housing and Residential Communities website. The housing application includes $175 housing application fee and housing prepayment.

Room Selection: February 1 is the deadline to participate in room selection. Students who complete their housing application after February 1 will be assigned a room.

    The 2026/2027 application opens on October 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. CT.

  4. Bama Bound Orientation

Register for Bama Bound, UA’s new student orientation. Registration opens in early February. Bama Bound includes a visit with your college or school to learn about different opportunities to be involved in your major and to meet with an advisor to register for your courses.

  5. Immunizations

Submit the Medical History Form and Proof of Immunization to the Student Health Center immediately upon admission to UA.
