How do I enroll for classes?

All main campus students will enroll in classes during Bama Bound Orientation held before each academic semester.

The middle 50% of students enrolling at The University of Alabama for fall 2025 is:

I accidentally selected that I have a fee waiver, but I don’t. How can I fix this issue?

Return to your application and unmark the fee waiver box. (Remember that all Alabama residents applying for 2027 are eligible for a fee waiver.) Now, you may pay your $50 application fee online with a credit or debit card, or you can send a check or money order to the below address. Allow 5-10 business days for your payment to arrive.

Why can’t I pay the $50 application fee?

You might have accidentally marked fee waiver. Double-check that the fee waiver box is unchecked on your application. (Remember that all Alabama residents applying for 2027 are eligible for a fee waiver.)

I am not receiving any emails from the University. Is my email correct?

Our official confirmation is sent to your Crimson email account. If you wish to change your personal email account, you can do so through your myBama account.

I want to transfer to UA. What should I do first?

Are you test optional?

UA is updating its holistic admissions review process for students applying as first-year undergraduate students for the 2027 and 2028 academic years. Students applying for a 2027 entry term will be required to submit a standardized test score (ACT or SAT) if their cumulative high school GPA is below 3.0. Do you superscore test scores?

UA will superscore for admission purposes. We will not superscore for automatic, merit-based scholarships.

What is considered if you do not have a test score?

Holistic admissions at The University of Alabama includes both academic and non-academic criteria. Academic components considered include high school GPA, performance in core subjects, academic honors and standardized test scores, should a student elect to submit them. Non-academic items include leadership experience, volunteer experience, extracurricular activities, employment and non-academic honors. All students must complete the minimum unit requirements.

Am I eligible for scholarships without a test score?

For competitive scholarships, students are considered regardless of the decision to submit standardized test scores as long as they meet the appropriate deadlines for their intended entry term.

For automatic merit scholarships, students must choose to submit standardized to scores and be mindful of appropriate deadlines for their intended entry term in order to be considered. (Only students who submit standardized test scores or are designated as National Merit Scholars are eligible for automatic merit scholarships.)

I’m applying as a transfer student with less than 24 credit hours, so do I still need to submit a score?

For the 2027 academic year, transfer students who have completed fewer than 24 credit hours will have the choice to be considered test optional if their cumulative high school GPA is a 3.0 or above. Students with a high school GPA below 3.0 must submit a test score. If you have test scores, you are welcome to submit them. Applicants who meet the test-optional requirements will not be penalized if test scores are not submitted.

The campus tours are full. What should I do?

We encourage you to regularly check back as additional campus tours may be added or some individuals may cancel their registration. You also can check out the virtual tour as well as virtual information sessions hosted by our different academic areas.

How long does a campus tour last?

Generally, the tour lasts about 90 minutes to two hours.

Is UA giving campus tours?

UA offers guided tours Monday through Friday as a combination campus bus and walking tour. Book your tour today!

I did not receive a confirmation email for the campus tour. Can I get that resent?

You will receive a confirmation email with driving directions and check-in information 72 hours prior to your tour. If you have any questions prior to your tour or did not receive the confirmation email, driving directions and additional information is available on our website.

Where do I park for my campus tour?

Parking is free for visitors at the Catherine and Pettus Randall Welcome Center with a printed parking pass (emailed after registration for your campus tour). If you did not receive a parking pass via email, please check in when you arrive at the Randall Welcome Center to receive a parking pass.

Where do I go for my campus tour?

All campus tours and in-depth visits begin at the Catherine and Pettus Randall Welcome Center.

How do I add a guest to my group for a campus tour?

Due to limited space on our tours, we cannot guarantee space for guests not previously registered. If you feel you need to register additional guests, please complete a second online registration and include the total number in your party with the second registration. The second registration cancels your first one.

What are the residence halls like?

UA has a variety of living options available for students, including traditional-style residence halls as well as suite style. Please check out our descriptions of the residence halls on campus.

How do I apply for housing?

Once a student is admitted, they need to pay their Freshman Enrollment Deposit ($200 nonrefundable pre-payment on fall tuition) before applying for housing. After the housing application opens in October, your housing application with be available for completion 24 hours after submission of your Freshman Enrollment Deposit. Visit the housing website to submit an application.
